I used to get a 31.2K hookup about every 8th or 10th time. Now I only get 28.8K hookups for the past year. I had attributed that to the ISP. Today, a friend of mine showed up with a computer and a new el cheapo $20 modem. I got a 45.3K hookup first try dialing to my ISP. So, I know it's not the phone line or ISP. I ran the MS modem wizard, or whatever it was that looked on the MS website for new drivers, there were none. Likewise, there were no updates on the 3Com site for this modem. I have the com 2 port settings on 115K. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. |
