| andyadru Tl Posts: 4 Venezuela | Posted - 10/5/2000 10:01:18 AM    I have modem US Robotic ext. 56K model 5683 that only connect to 34,4Kps, another time connect to 45,333 but others modem generics connect to 50,666K why? Please,help me. I dont know what is faster, Robotic cost me five time more generics. I want speed connection, trhoghput is 2Kb/S or 4,5 Kb/S What´s the maximun Kb/S that I can expect? |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 10/5/2000 1:33:33 PM  Depends upon telco facilities, firmware version in your modem and the type and firmware at server modem. The modem reporting higher connect rate might be producing lower throughput than the USR - and throughput and final rate is what's really important. As for USR modem - check diag i11 / y11 after connect to see what impairments are detected; also try test calls to other ISPs. Aloha, |
