Aloha !!
I have tried everything I know of and now I am looking for help elsewhere, such as here,
before I leave a long post and bother you the stress my modem has caused me let me first ask if you can help on installation problems with us robotics win modems running win95. and as a side note, why does my com ports change on boot ups. sometimes i have com1 and com1 , then the next boot i may get com2 and com5, i fear i have problems please let me know if you wish to entertain these troubles with me thanks

We try and help when we can....

If you're dealing with a PCI modem - the use and assignment of COM ports can be very confusing. If you're dealing with a clone system, there can also be m/b BIOS issues.

enter your bios, and where it says"PNP OS installed" make sure it says "NO". I dont care what your OS is, make it say NO.
