Well, not BAD connect speed but not outstanding, and on an outstanding line. My aunt gets 45333, with no retrains and matching throughput, which sounds good until you realize that her line has no digital impairments and must have a good analog protion because when she was getting V.34 connects before I upgraded from X2 to V.90 for her she got 31200 to 33600 every time. No digital pad, PROBABLY a 6 db analog pad, no RBS, at least not detected. If it was missing RBS links it probably wouldn't be getting even 45333 so thats probably not it. SNR of 43 to 47. Receive power of -21 dBm. Again I am assuming the analog portion of the line is good because of the V.34 speeds. So on this OUTSTANDING line, why is she only getting average V.90 speeds? Her modem is a telepath, equivilent to a Sportster, same AT commands and all. Could I use sportster firmware? Maybe telepath sucks:( When I set up her daughter's comp on the same line I will test it out and see. I think its a lucent.

Many folks would love 45+. Especially with no retrains, good throughput. You're one of the lucky ones. I have to slow my Supra Express and USR down (forcing a max speed of 45) or I get too many errors to be resent, which actually slows things down. Kick back and enjoy the ride - 53 is most allowed anyway.

I would agree with you on a line with some tougher impairments, but on a line this good, I can't see why it can't go higher. 45333 IS a great connect speed EXCEPT on an outstanding line like the one in question.

I'd like to see the i6 i11 & y11 results after a connection with this modem (15-30 minutes long)

Aloha,
Richard
