| Rico Tl Posts: 1 | Posted - 11/8/2000 7:57:43 AM    I work as a help desk technician supporting a major payroll software product. Our product does not use TAPI and is having ever increasing dificulty connecting using the new PNP, PCI and Winmodems found in most new pc's today. These same modems will work with AOL etc. I spend hours fiddling with different strings and have about a 50% or less success rate. Do you have any ideas?

If a DOS app - www.808news.com/56k/dos.htm - bottom line: many modems will not work; If a Windows app that does not use TAPI, you probably need to get the software developer to change it to TAPI, or to program in all the possible IRQ/COMPort possibilities that Windows' modems can use.
