I have a US Robotics 56K internal modem. It has voice and speaker (also suposably caller id). Everything works fine and I connect at 45333 but the caller id. I've tried other inf files and setting but I still receive no response of the caller id information.

Does anyone have the AT, at& and S setting which should be run for caller id? Would having other devices attached to the phone line (cordless phone, answer machine, etc.) or computer (printer, another device on a different com port) effect caller id?

Also, the modem has normal and inhanced modes--set by AT~Zn--what is the difference between the two?

Below is some responses from the modem.

Thanks

Having other devices connected (as long as they don't answer the line before the 2nd ring) shouldn't affect caller id signal;
Your modem - if set to autoanswer before 2nd ring - could be answering before the caller id;

Beyond that, I have seen a # of complaints involving your problem - not just with USR modems.....

Richard
