hello all. Have a USR Sportster 56k voice that is dialing into analog 33.6 modem bank. USR will disconnect within minutes every time. Is there some kind of init string I can use, or a firmware upgrade? Thanks everyone.

Doesn't ISP have any 56k lines? Under modem properties, connection, advanced, type S32=98

Sarge, no 56k yet. It is coming soon though. This area has such poor phone lines that it probably won't be much better, as far as connection speed goes. Do I put the string in exactly as you entered it, or do I have to put the AT in front of it? Many thanks.

actually this sounds like the old usr "spiral of death" syndrom

adding s15=128s33=32 should take care of the problem (assuming your isp supports mnp)
