Hi I have the following modem gateway telepath 56k x2 modem for windows # 6000767. this is a usr sportster win modem. I am having a problem trying to connect. I get the port already open error.

Try a different PCI slot;
Try removing/reinstalling modem and make sure to use correct driver file.

Make sure there is only one modem showing in device manager and in the modem icon in the control panel.
