Comet_Riders Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 12/29/2000 7:53:11 AM I have a USR 56k Voice Fax Winmodem Model # 5690 Problem is whenever I try to send data to my ISP I get disconnected. Web pages exactly like this one(where you post) is the problem. When I click on the "Post" button I immediatly get booted. Sometimes my Data is sent, sometimes not. Usually these pages have either JAVA or JAVA Script contained on these pages. This also happens sometimes when I send an E-Mail that has an attachment. To clarify, I usually dont lose my connection when this happens. Just cannot access anymore Web pages after it happens untill I manually disconnect, then reconnect. I connect 95% of the time at 49,333 or sometimes 45,333. I get great throughput as well. I usually get ISDN like numbers or better with compression. I have the lastest patch for the modem. It would seem like to me when I click "post" my computer or Modem is causing me to lose my connection. Escape codes maybe? What can I do to fix this? Praying I dont get booted when I click " Post New Topic" so I can get some help TIA, Tony P.S. I'm getting booted here too... 5th attempt to post ATi6 info after getting booted:U.S. Robotics 56K Voice Win Link Diagnostics... Perhaps "the latest patch" was *supposed* to correct this but not entirely successfully? The old symptom used to be that the disconnect reason was "keypress abort". |

This may not affect all file transfers, but seems to most often affect the upload of email attachments. Issue Resolution Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel Issue Cause |
