I have a person trying to connect with an Acer Accelerator pro (sp?). They can get connected, but usually after multiple attempts. They are as stated in the subject connecting to a HiperDSP card with a PRI that supports v.90 connections.

Unfortunetly not much else is known about the Acer end of the connection since I wasn't able to access thier machine.

He connects to to a different ISP in New York about the same speed, but the connections are much faster. So I believe there is some kind of compatability issue between his modem and the ISP's USR modems. Are there any known issues involved here? One thing that has not been done yet is to try init strings or a newer firmware/drivers for his modem.

I know the problem isn't with thier phone lines cause of how Verizon's network is setup. Long distance calls, and calls to the ISP will go through the same switchs(the ISP has the SNS service so after it hits the CO its all digital to the ISP equipment) and if it was a problem between him and the CO, he would at least have some good connections like he does with the NY ISP.

If anyone has any info on this please let me know.

Check to see if there are driver updates for the modem from Acer, and/or determine the chipset and see if there are 3rd-party driver updates compatible with the modem;
and/or
disable 56k on the Acer. www.808news.com/56k/trouble2.htm
