| Dennis Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 5/15/2000 4:28:18 PM    I have an USR External 56K external modem- model 5686-02 on my PC at work. We have multiple phone lines on the phone but I have a dedicated modem phone line. The fastest I can connect on my HP PC is 26,000 to 28,000. I am the web master for the companies Web page and too impatient for these low speeds. Our Systems Administrator is at a loss at why I can not connect faster. He is down the hall from me with a dedicated modem line and connects at 49,000 with an identical modem! Thank you. Dennis |
| SARGE Tl Posts: 743 USA | Posted - 5/15/2000 8:40:20 PM  Take your modem down the hall and try it. If stays at your lower speed, it's modem. Otherwise, your own line has an impairment. |
