hi

I have a USR ext modem, whenever playing Counter-Strike I often having heavly lag, I do everything on gamerslag page, disabling flow control was good to solve some lag problem but I still have less then, I think my ISP is good, cuz I played without lag during hours somewhere that has good quality phone line with that ISP. My personel opinion I have poor telephone line or route.

I tried to tweak registery settings and limiting connect speed around 37000. Maybe v.90 sux for gaming as written on site, so whenever I disable v.90 and 56k(s32=32 and 64 from my modem's manual) I connect 14400, so it means poor band.

My manual writes:
s32= 1 V.8 Call Indicate enable
2 enables V.8 mode
4 reserved
8 Disable V.34 modulation
16 Disable 33.600 and 31.200 in v.34 modulation
32 Disable 56k modulation
64 Disable v.90 modulation
128 Reserved

How can I solve limiting handicap ?..

here's my config;

ASUS CUV4X mainboard v1006
Geforce2 MX
128mb ram
USR Faxmodem ext 5630 (made in Ireland)

MTU = 576
RcvWindow = 2144
TTL = 64
Com Boost Time = 2
SlowNet is unchecked...

Regards...
