| lkrause Tl Posts: 5 USA | Posted - 2/25/2001 12:27:07 PM    Has anyone ever heard of the X2 Spiral Death modem slowdown. My ISP says that I may be experiencing this with my US Robotice OEM modem. When I get online, eventually my web pages will not open and I can't even get back into Outlook Express to check e-mail. He says that it is a problem with these modems. I have PCI Voice/Fax Modem, internal. Thanks, |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 3/7/2001 11:40:54 AM  V.34 bug in very old USR product was referred to as spiral death syndrome; some 56k problems - which seemed to some similar to the old bug - were dubbed 56k spiral; however, there is no specific bug or fix for this whatever you call it - you have to do troubleshooting - dialing multiple #s, disabling protocols, & examining diagnostic screens etc. to figure out what your problem is. www.808news.com/56k/trouble1.htm Aloha, |
