I have a new computer which uses Win ME. I have a new model usr5695 56K internet call modem which was installed by the retailer. I installed the BVRP phone tools fax software supplied by USR. Everything is working except that I can't recieve faxes. The call comes through and the voice mail takes it instead of switching to fax. I have the software mode set for Voice/Fax/Data and the "receive" is activated. After trying everything I could think of, I finally called USR tech support. They told me that they do not support this modem for ME systems. The told me they don't have the drivers for it. They indicated that there is porbably a way to make it work, but since they don't support it, they couldn't tell me what it is. Does anybody have a clue how I can receive faxes?

Try turning off the voice mode and see if it works if you set the system so it answers only in fax receive mode.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't receive in fax mode either. After trying several things I believe I have solved my problem. Today, I took the usr modem back to the retailer and exchaned it for a Zoom 2925. It is working fine with Windows ME, plus it has a 7 year warrant and I got $53 dollars back.

I hope you got the 2925L (Lucent chipset), not the 2925(R) - Rockwell/Conexant
