| spyder2001 Tl Posts: 3 | Posted - 3/13/2001 10:02:02 PM    I have a USR winmodem model no.3CP5699A and it works fine for loading webpages and all but whenever I try to download from any site the modem just stops and does nothing. Any ideas of what to do. |
| honeytounge Tl Posts: 4 USA | Posted - 3/16/2001 3:22:16 PM  It sounds like a band width problem, you may want to set the modem back to v34 and see if that helps.(put string s32=v34 in the extra settings) To get there double click on my computer/double click on dial up networking/right click on your isp's icon and go to properties/click on configure/click on connections/click on advanced/put string in extra settings. If that doesnt work i recommend a download utility. Youll still lose the connection, but will be able to resume the dload right where you left off. I use one from (http://www.netzip.com/products/info_netzip_win.html?src=site,netzip) click on the free trial on the right hand side. Good luck |
