| lgeralds Tl Posts: 2 | Posted - 3/20/2001 4:12:40 PM    I'm having a problem with a new usr 5686 ext. When the thing opens the phone line, it makes a screeching noise almost like a handshake noise. No dial can be heard through this. The line is good enough; an older internal usr connects fine on the same line. This is the second 5686 ext tried with the same effect. Another strange thing, other phones in the house short ring once when the modem gives up on finding a dial tone. Thanks. |
