My XJ2560 for my laptop downloads @ 28.8K bps when using NetZero but 50-52K bps on other ISP's. NZ tech. suggests it may be due to strings issues. How can I fix this?

You've already found the problem. If NZ has another #, try it. You can play with Hyperterminal and dial other #'s from other ISP's to see what I mean. Get the #'s from Richard's site:
