Twhint Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 4/26/2001 4:18:01 PM I'm experiencing a weird problem with a USR 5610A modem, in which I can connect normally, varying speeds, but nothing out of the ordinary, and surf to my heart's content without a problem. I can send/recieve email without any trouble, but whenever I try to download a file, it will start it, go up to about 1/4 of the way, then suddenly it locks up the connection. Sometimes, it will allow me to surf some more, but more often than not, I have to disconnect, then reconnect. It has yet to allow me to download a file. Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks. |

Twhint Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 5/1/2001 7:10:17 AM Actually, I found the fix. The modem had no problem sending email or surfing the web. It stayed connected and didn't give any problems. What the problem was, was that when you tried to download a file, it would start, then it would just hang the whole connection. Everything appeared to be going normally, when in fact, the whole connection was hung. I tried reinstalling Dial-up Networking and all that with no success. What I did find, was that if you logged in under Client for Microsoft Networks, instead of Windows logon, it solved the problem. |
