Quake-Dog Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 4/27/2001 11:59:52 PM My dilemma is that I can't play Quake3 over the net using this modem. Whenever I try to, I ping out. A friend and I think this has something to do with the internet calling part of the modem. The modem installed software that runs in the background/system tray and I think it's supposed to auto-detect incomming phonecalls.. which is where I think the problem lies. It's probably 'filtering' all the tons of packets that the Q3 server is sending to it to make sure they're not incomming phone-call requests. Is there a way to disable it? It appears not only to be software but hardware too. Help... :( |

Alternatively, use CTRL+ALT+DEL for task list, identify the monitor task and terminate it. Find where this is loaded (startup, win.ini, system.ini or registry) and remove it - although make backup of registry before changing it. Aloha, |
