| jakkwb Tl Posts: 17 USA | Posted - 5/15/2001 7:49:03 PM    Greetings all- I have a Packard Bell PB 610 system. Has a USR 56k Winmodem on board. Modem is installed on Com3. When I go to Control-Panel, Modems, diagnostics, Windows tells me "Couldn't open port" error. Control Panel-System tells me the modem is installed correctly, with no problems. Anyone have any ideas? | lobb Tl Posts: 26 USA | Posted - 5/15/2001 8:36:24 PM  yea, id say take the modem out, boot up your computer,remove all modems from control panel,shut down & put the modem back in ,reboot & try to install it fresh.if that doesnt work you better post back here cause im not an expert. L8r |
