GEKONE Tl Posts: 1 | Posted - 5/20/2001 8:46:56 AM I bought a new V92 external fax modem to replace my aging Diamond Supra. I now have major problems trying to connect to my ISP with the new USR modem. It will handshake for a long time then disconnect.Once in a while I do connect at a dismal 24,000 bps or so. I have since had to reinstall my old Diamond modem and now connect to my ISP at 50,000 bps.I Have contacted my ISP and they have told me that they use USR v 90 modems. Anyone Have a Clue? THANX!

SARGE Tl Posts: 743 USA | Posted - 5/20/2001 12:53:23 PM I have the same modem and it outperforms all my others, including Supra Express. You have nothing in extra settings, right? It should be backward compatible to v90. Try the Hyperterminal test and check connections with other ISP's. If still performs poorly, exchange it or get your $ back. http://www.geocities.com/sarge67us/USR.html
