Mac Tl Posts: 5 USA | Posted - 5/23/2001 7:40:16 AM I have 8 Dell Latitude XPIcd's that use the modemin the subject line. They are having a hell of a time connecting and staying connected to AT&T. I tried using the following init string I found on Intel's website that optimizes setting for connecting to a shiva: AT&F&C1&D3&Q5%C3\N3S7=60S36=7S46=138S48=7S95=47 It seems to help a little but I'mnot having the sucess I had hoped. This modem is only capable of 33.6 but I've seen these modems get good connecting in the past when Iworked at USR. Any ideas. |

v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 5/23/2001 9:21:49 AM Now, why would Intel give init string advice for a USR modem connecting to AT&T? www.808news.com/56k/initmagic.htm There is no magic string. 1st step - check modem diagnostics / make test calls with Hyperterminal Aloha, |
Mac Tl Posts: 5 USA | Posted - 5/23/2001 9:25:17 AM They don't but they dogive advice forconnecting to a shiva. I thought their advice might also apply here. This laptop will travel all over the country so analyzing phone lines didn't see like the answer. Thanks for the response |
