I got a Courier V.Everything modem from Ebay with the seller telling me I could upgrade this from its 28.8/33.6 state to a x2/v.90 modem. I found the firmware on USR's website and performed the flash upgrade without a hitch. However, I can only connect at 31200. When I do a ATI7, there is no mention of x2 or v.90 in the Options slot. When I do a ATI11, there's a slot for v.90 so I'm assuming that the flash upgrade did take. Anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

You need a key that costs $60 from USR (although I'm not sure if you can actually purchase one at this time).
The upgradeable V.34 Couriers will take x2/V.90 flash, but x2/V.90 will not be enabled, or displayed in i7, without unlocking with the key.

Aloha,
Richard

Would you happen to know an alternative place where I can get a key then?

sillycon--

I've got the same issue - 2 33.6 Couriers bought off ebay. All information I've found indicates no keys are available. Did you ever find a solution?
