safecracker Tl Posts: 3 United Kingdom	Posted - 8/4/2001 6:10:19 AM Well we have changed the IRQ and put the modem in different slots, tried two different 3com modems. did get it to dial u and not crash once by knocking off the onboard sound- doing our heads in here!!
Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA	Posted - 8/4/2001 12:04:36 PM OS? System specs? Is it crashing during the actual dialing or when it goes to verifying Username and Password? What's the exact error message(s) do you get? Tried uninstalling and re-installing Dial-Up Networking?

Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA	Posted - 8/4/2001 9:05:19 PM If the modem dial out and connects (connection sounds stop) then I'd suspect a problem with DUN. Try Uninstalling and re-installing Dial-Up Networking, click Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs, select the Windows Setup tab, highlight Communications and click the Details button. Uncheck Dial-Up Networking and click OK. Reboot, then go back and recheck Dial-Up Networking in the Windows Setup, click OK and reboot again. Then try a connection.

Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA	Posted - 8/5/2001 11:55:01 AM In the Device Manager, double click on Computer in the list. This will show a list of all IRQs in use and what's using them, any other device(s) using the same IRQ as the modem other than IRQ Holder?
