I don't know where the problem lies, but let me give some of the symptoms:

1) I limited the maximum connect speed to 40000 for stability's sake, and usually that's adequate.

2) If I sign on at LESS than 40000, I get an EXTREME amount of errors for no apparent reason. However, if I disconnect and reconnect immediately, and accomplish a 40000 connection, there are no problems, thus it's not likely a line noise issue. I consider this to be the biggest problem as it's the most frequent.

3) Occassionally, I get tons of errors during a 40000 connection. Blers can rocket into the 5-thousands in a matter of minutes. It is noteworthy that the connection starts off relatively "clean."

Sounds like you need RBS links to align to get a good connect. If u get an LT they can supposedly compensate well for multiple RBS links.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand that at all, hehe. Could you explain what "RBS" and "LT" mean?

LT is Lucent Technologies. This is the company that makes the chipset for the modem I'm describing. RBS signals call progress and more info can be found on http://808hi.com/56k/x2-tech.htm and http://808hi.com/56k/rbs2.htm

Obviously my links didn't work. How do you do links? BTW, just cut and paste the URLs.

[Edit: URLs are entered without any special codes. Must have a blank space on each side; must start with either www. or http://
