DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH IS THE BEST STRING FOR MY 3COM USR 56K OEM MODEM MODEL 2975 THAT LET ME SPEED UP MY CONNECTION THAT IS 45,333

There's no string that will make the modem connect faster than it determines that the phone line quality will allow.

Most USR's will connect at one speed and retrain upwards. You can prove this in modem diagnostics after a session, or use Hyperterminal and dial, hitting the codes and watch it climb. If you're interested in learning more about USR and your connect stats, check out the link. I wouldn't go jacking with any new drivers, and strings are used to control/fix a problem. With USR, overall performance often improves by forcing a max speed lower than what you're maxing out at. If going too fast, data has to be resent, causing a slowdown.
