I just brought home a v.92 56k external (5686D) and havent been able to connect with it once. Durning the training process it's almost like the server hangs up. I am at a loss for what to do here. Here's what my log says:
09-01-2001 16:32:08.74 - Send: <cr>
09-01-2001 16:32:09.11 - Recv: <cr><lf>NO CARRIER<cr><lf>
09-01-2001 16:32:09.11 - Interpreted response: No Carrier
09-01-2001 16:32:09.11 - Send: ATH<cr>
09-01-2001 16:32:09.23 - Recv: <cr><lf>OK<cr><lf>
09-01-2001 16:32:09.23 - Interpreted response: Ok

Any Ideas? :(

have you had any suggestions on how to fix this problem yet??
i have the same problem. USR tech support told me to try this string in the extra option under modem controls but it didnt work
(+pig=1space+pmh=1spacepqc=3)
have not had a chance to call back and tell them that this string command didnt work.

I hope you didn't take him literally and enter the string exactly like that.

The string should probably be: +PIG=1;+PMH=1;+PQC=3

+PIG=1 - Disable PCM upstream negotiation.

+PMH=1 - Disabled modem-on-hold.

+PQC=3 - Disable Short Phase 1 and Short Phase 2.
