My ISP accepts 56k connections but I'm only make 24K connections with my new us modem. I try it with other 56k modem (Supra) and it works fine.

Don't have an answer for you but I'm just curious about something. I've been told that USR modems don't support the +MS command but it appears this one might.

In Hyperterminal, issue the following commands and post the results.

AT+MS=?

AT+MS?
