I read the limit your connection speed page, but it doesnt have a listing to limit the upstream rate for the 3com/usr modems. I have a 56k VFM Pro

Can this be done, and what is the string? I would like to set it to 21600bps.

My phone line only gives me a decent connection up to 48000. When I had a LT winmodem, I set my rates to 48000 down and 21600 up and life was good.

The upstream rate will be affected by the SYMBOL rate.

S33 V.34 & V.34+ Connection setup
bit mapped control flags.
1 = Disable 2400 Symbol rate
2 = Disable 2743 Symbol rate
4 = Disable 2800 Symbol rate
8 = Disable 3000 Symbol rate
16 = Disable 3200 Symbol rate
32 = Disable 3429 Symbol rate
64 = Reserved
128 = Disable Shaping

If you disable 3429 & 3200 symbol rates, upstream will be reduced; however, 3Com modems do not behave like Lucent modems and limiting upstream rate may not be necessary,.

Aloha,
Richard

I have been using the following string....

S11=50&U31&N32S32=34&K0S10=60S13=0S21=1

I still get 49333 connections.

How can I limit my connection rate.
