What do you think now? Also there a high pitch noise just before the two V.90 dongs. Might pick up the phone reciever, dial 1 and then listen very closely to see if you hear any crackling, pops or a hum (may be almost inaudible) or if there's any crosstalk (faint dialing sounds or distant voices).
Kelly Eslinger Tl Posts: 19 USA	Posted - 9/26/2001 6:32:57 AM I can't really hear anything, but my daughters say there is kind of a fuzzy sound. Maybee, maybee not. I have had my IPS who is also my phone provider check it out and they say I should be able to get a 56k connection. I have also sent them modem logs pointing out the SNR of .1. It has been at least one month and I have submitted the log files to them twice. Not sure how accurate modem logs are. Thanks! Kelly
Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA	Posted - 9/26/2001 10:18:27 AM Well, next step would be to take the computer to a friend's home, one that you know is getting a 56K connection and try a connection to your ISP using their phone line. This will let you know very quickly if the problem is with the modem/modem setup or with your phone line.
