Hardware: 3Com Winmodem 3C1807WDM, PCI
OP SYS: Win 98
The computer recognizes the modem and I have loaded the driver. The modem is listed in device manager under PCI, although a yellow exclamation is stamped over it. When I check the modem properties the following message is present: "The NTKERN.vxd device loaders for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2)". Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can't find any info on the 3C1807WDM, are you sure about the model number?

Only thing I can find about the error message you're getting is this:

USB Devices Do Not Work Correctly and You Receive "Could Not Load the Device Driver" Error Message

I am assuming that this is an external modem with a USB connection
