l0bster0 Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 10/15/2001 10:43:55 PM I just arranged with telco to have V.90 compatible line. It works great with "casual" speed limit defaulting with V.90 at 40 kbps and 44 kbps ) if lucky!) I believe this is the " TI " chip. QUESTION: I believe there are commands to "force modem shake" and to connect at 57,600 (or higher) 53 (or higher) Kbps, 44 kbps (or higher) ... etc. for V.90 ... It seems that commands &Un and &Nn do not work ( block the port!). |
Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA | Posted - 10/16/2001 11:12:00 AM You can't force the modem to connect any faster than it determine that the phone line quality will allow, even if you could force the modem to connect faster it'd be the same as forcing your car to go faster than road conditions would allow. BTW, 57,600 is a port speed (modem to computer) not a connect speed. |
