midas Tl Posts: 1 | Posted - 10/16/2001 2:16:43 PM I have a USR PCI modem (2977) that installs under Com5. I have a dos program that only supports Com1-4. I know there is software out there to fool the program into thinking the modem is on another port but I have no idea where to find it.... Any suggestions. Thanx |

Bob Starnes Tl Posts: 4360 USA | Posted - 10/18/2001 5:43:41 PM I think if Windows assigns a standard Com Port setting for DOS Support then the DOS programs don't have a problem but if Windows configures the DOS Com setting outside the norm then the DOS app may have with it. My Rockwell HCF modem has always assigned Com3 (03E8)/IRQ4 for DOS Support. |
