cbates Tl Posts: 1 | Posted - 10/26/2001 9:51:14 AM I was helping a friend the other night fix their computer, they had AOL and then uninstalled it to use another ISP. They were having all kinds of trouble after that. I just though I would try an easy fix and just upgrade to 98se, thinking maybe this would fix this problem without doing much troubleshooting. Well, after that now when I access the modem either through modem diagnostics or through DUN, the system reboots itself. I though, maybe I could just update the driver and that would fix the problem... Nope.. I tried different modem settings with the same results. Does anybody maybe know a fix for this without me having to format the drive and reinstall everything. Sorry kind of being kind of lazy, but I'm doing this for free and really don't want to spend much time working on her computer since I have very little time on my hands with work. Two things I am going to try when I work on it again is disable power management and also change PCI slots, but is there anything else I can try besides what I have listed to get this this working without haveing to reinstall everything. I know I'm being kind of lazy, but I'll be doing this for free and it is pretty time consuming to reinstall everything. Thanks for any help. |
