| georgemcgee Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 6/18/2000 8:54:13 AM    My USR 56k modem works fine except when I am done working on-line. When I disconnect from the ISP my modem will not release the line. I must unplug the phone line until I am ready to use my modem again. If I plug my phone line in and don't use my modem, it will keep my line off the hook. What do I need to do? georgemcgee george |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 6/18/2000 9:41:47 AM  As some USR modems now use solid-state device instead of electro-mechanical relay to go on/off-hook, reports of this type of malfunction are increasing greatly. You have defective modem. Needs replacement.
