I have two USR modems: one is 2977 OEM 56k "hardware" modem, another one is 00117100 Sportster 33,6k voice fax modem. First one shows connection speed 42.5k on every line, and seems to me working slow. Another one- Sportster is old, from 1996, I tried to flash it and founded russian site with flash utility, the only difference it was shown not exact modem number: it was 00117102, and myne is 00117100. That's all. When I tried to run the flasher it said: :" (1) This modem is not Sportster Flash! " What is Sportster Flash? This is Sportster for sure! Please help finding firmware to upgreade my modems! Thanks a lot! _mike_ |
| pauldog Tl Posts: 231 USA | Posted - 11/9/2001 12:46:47 PM  "Sportster Flash" is actually a Sportster model. Confusing, I know! I've tried to use the Russian flash utility, but it rejects modems with a non-matching ID #. YOu're probably out of luck if your ID # is not an exact match. The forum on the Russian site is full of questions with no answers. I tried flash a 33.6 to a V.90, using the file for the same modem, but it wouldn't accept it for the same reason. Maybe it's not meant for that. |
