I am using it on RHL 6.1 and 7.2 with the same outcome. If I switch to the USR, I can never get a connection. ppp logs show that the connection is lost due to LCP echo timeouts, the remote host is not responding. It is not responding because the modem will not maintain a connection. I tried disabling protocols to possibly isolate the disfunctional one but to no avail. Snippets of i6 as follows: Disconnect reason is LD received Disconnect reason is LD received Disconnect reason is DISC received
If this is not enough to make a diagnosis can you give me a list of AT commands to use that would gather enough info. I can simply swap back the Hayes and everything works fine, so it appears to be a modem issue so far.

A normal range for codec distortion should be in the teens shouldn't it(?). I know this is not very good but what does it mean and what should be the solution? ati6 Chars sent 72 Chars Received 556 Retrains Requested 0 Retrains Granted 0 Data Compression V42BIS 2048/32 Disconnect Reason is DISC Received OK
