My modem connects fine and usually starts working fine, but then after a while the mouse pointer will start rapidly blinking back and forth between the usual arrow and the hourglass and my connection starts to lag and become irregular. Reconnecting usually help temporarily, but once it's happened it's likely to recur soon unless I reboot completely. Occasionally, if i hit CTRL-ALT-DEL when this happens I'll see MSGSRV.EXE not responding, and killing it will fix the modem problem (though I have discovered that disabling msgsrv altogether is a bad idea). I updated my modem drivers, which didn't help. I also called USR and they told me it was an operating system issue and they couldn't help me. Does anyone have any ideas? would be grateful. Thanks, Greg Friedman |

gf207 Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 12/10/2001 1:17:49 PM Hi, I did try the modem in another PCI slot over the weekend. I don't think that it's solved the problem completely, but it did seem to happen less frequently. So at least it is now better than it was. Thanks, Greg |
