my product code is
00568603 (56k Fax ext)
anyways... before my v.92 update i was getting 50333bps
connections. that was 99.9% of the time. Note: i never did an update until now this v.92 update.

After updateing my firmware... i can't get over 42666bps connections. what the hell is that??? That makes me mad. thats a 8000bps drop, thats a loss!

so i contacted USR and asked them to give me some help. they tell me put this
+PIG = 1 +PMH=1 +PQC=3 (disables the v.92)
under extra settigns for my modem.
Well it does nothing. Further more, i prolly figured it was the update problem and probably has to do with the new v.92 support and my isp not supporting it. which they don't (i've checked). So i asked them for old firmware updates to flashback. They wont give me any, what's that all about!

So i'm just wondering fi anyone else ahd this problem and if they did, how did the fix it???

OR can anyoen point me to a place with old firmware updates?? If so thanx a lot!

I belive the faster uploaf comes at the price
of slower download...

To me the real strength of V92 is the
accompanying V44 improved compression.

However, it lows like USR will not adopt V44...

At this point I regret having forked out for a new modem...
