thunderrooster Tl Posts: 31 USA | Posted - 12/17/2001 4:44:35 PM Hi.If you ever need to do a fcc id search go here http://www.driverguide.com/guide/fccid.htm or here http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/ .Well I will tell you that it is a us robotics modem.Dont know what model # it is.However it is a data/fax modem.Goto usr website, http://www.usr.com/support/s-main-menu.asp and download general drivers for the data modems.You should see a several boxes.Choose data modems and scroll down and choose general.Hopefully you get the right drivers.Hope this helps.

When try to connect net the computer still gave the message: "the modem is used by another program ....", and also the message "The COM Port cann't be opened" shows when i check the modem. What's the possible problem ?

thunderrooster Tl Posts: 31 USA | Posted - 12/18/2001 2:30:18 PM What model # is your modem that would very helpfull.Well I have seen plenty of this and what usually works for me is to disable com2 in bios.That is if you are not using com2,most people dont.Oh yeah before you do that,remove the modem and remove com 2 from windows.Then restart your comp and enter bios and disable com2,if your not using com2.Another thing try to see what irq your modem is on.If that dont work give me an email with the model number of your modem and what irq its on. |
