| freetrafic.com Tl Posts: 2 Canada | Posted - 12/24/2001 8:32:51 AM     We run a 56K modem within a WIN 98 system. Connects fine, runs smooth initially. After a few minutes of normal operation, the modem seems to open up, and is "receiving" data constantly. This slows down performance in other areas substantially. We have recently changed modems, to a USR 56K, with the same end result. At times, the constant receiving will cease, and performance returns to normal, at least temporarily. Any thoughts on potential cause? Thank you, Michael |
