Hey!

I'm having problems with the auto-detect of my isa usr modem in windows xp. I'm sure the board is plugged correctly. I also updated my windows however it didn't even recognize the board.
What can i do?

XP may not recognize older ISA cards with PnP.
But, since the modem is h/w controller-based, it should appear to the system as a COM port -
check Control Panel->System -> Devices - Com ports.

Does modem have jumper for COM/IRQ? Make sure modem doesn't conflict with motherboard COM port(s);

If COM port of modem is recognized by system, you should be able to talk to modem with Hyperterminal
www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-hyperterm.htm

and getting modem to work with Windows programs is a matter of adding new hardware with the .inf file available from www.usr.com site.

Aloha,
Richard
