I use router 2611 (8 serial sync/async interface)& 3Com U.S. Robotics 56K Faxmodem, providing remote access (for users to dialup). The speed now is still low. My modem init string is "AT&F1E0S0=1L0#CID=1". Please help me to improve the user connection speed.
Thanks a lot.

Might be helpful if you post a modem log.

What connect speeds are you getting? If I'm understanding you (having users dial into this system), the best you can get on this arrangement would be 33600bps at most.

What is the user connect speed?
The highest you'll be able to get is 33.6k since there are 2 client modems involved (56k speeds require 1 digital 'server' and 1 analog 'client' modem); so, you would be better served by init string that disables 56k - often, a higher V.34 connect is obtained when V.90 is disabled - this should be done at both ends.
www.modemsite.com/56k/ms.htm
has commands to disable 56k for most chipsets

Aloha! Richard.
