I'm using an USRobotics 56k external modem and can not hold a connection. It connects and then about 2-4 seconds later it hangs up. This happens on sending calls and receiving calls. The log where it disconnects looks like this. Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

Thanks

Are you connecting with Windows' Dial Up Networking (DUNS)?
If so, you should get a DUNS Error.
www.modemsite.com/56k/dunserror.asp

The modemlog is not much help except to tell you the remote modem hung up - you need to find out why and the DUNS Error may hold clues - the answer maybe in your connectoid settings
www.modemsite.com/56k/connectoid.asp

There are other possibilities - but more info needed...

Aloha! Richard.

Hi,
this is not exactly the answer everybody is looking for
But:
I think your problems are solved by turning off 56k protocoll. 56k v.90 connected to a flex hangs up every time it tries to renegotiate a line.
To fix: in extra settings type the string: s32=98
this will disable 56k.
Also i think it could be if you have the "automatic detect settings" box checked and you should not -- every time it tries to outoconfig it might hang up.
