Hi,
i was always happy with my 3years old 5630 Modem ( in Germany called USR Faxmodem ). But after the automatic V.92 Upgrade theres someting very strange...
Now my modem seems to be a US/Canada-Model ?
( Yes it really was a German-Model )
Now in Win2000 the only way to install it was as Standardmodem, the maximum connect is now 45k ( was 51k).
I have the original german V.90 Firmware on my harddisc, but i couldn't re-flash it ( Controlcenter says this file is not for my modem)
Now my Question : Is there a way to reflash this thing ? ( undocumented start-sequence for the controlcenter or a hack or something else ). Please help me

UCU was a good idea, firmware is back on modem. But now I couldn't install it ( USR Controlcenter says US/Canada Modem ).
Ist there a way to edit the areacode ?

I think the country info is part of the firmware flash with USR modems - not a setting that you can change.
In which case, you'd need to contact USR support to get the proper file to flash your modem. Suggest you don't say anything about UCU - just that ControlCenter update changed your modem from Germany to US/Canada.

Aloha! Richard.
