v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 2/25/2002 10:47:38 AM I knew that USR had begun selling controllerless, DSP-less HSP or 'software' modems, but I didn't know - until yesterday - that they are [apparently] based upon a Rockwell/Conexant 'chipset'. (The 'chipset' for this kind of modem is basically a codec - a/d/d/a convertor and on/off-hook control - the real work is done by your cpu, and the quality of the driver is extremely critical.) I'd appreciate any help in identifying the USR models #s, retail and OEM, that are of this design; also would really appreciate anyone who has one of these and a digital camera to send me a .jpg of the modem card!!!
