c_m Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 2/27/2002 12:06:33 AM I've been reading the posts regarding noise problems with the 5610A/B and other USR modems, and got my explanation. I have the 5610B and never realized the modem had problems with noise after I tried connecting without the $20 filter from Radio Shack (which I already had been using with my previous modem - a Aztech 3880-W(U) Conexant HCF). Seems that the 5610B picks up AM sports radio where I live. Edited by - c_m on 2/27/02 12:33:55 AM |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 2/27/2002 8:23:39 AM The 5610 Performance Pro has a bad silicon DAA design - instead of a phone line transformer and mechancical relay, it's all electronic, and it just wasn't designed properly. It's also much for likely to completely fail. Aloha! Richard. |
