I have noticed an intermittent crackling noise in the background on my neighbor's V92 External faxmodem (568604), and I was wondering if it relates to the 5610's screeching...

please let me know


PS Does the 56K v90 WinModem 3cp5699A have that problem, does it support XP?

Based on the ones I've heard I would suspect not. But for $10.00 I would try the Radio Shack cure. Or if you can find someone with DSL and an extra lowpass filter that you can borrow temporarily.
