Hi! I did a ATY 11 command on my newly bought USB HW (OEM)modem and get zeros on the level against the different freq. Does it mean that my modem is not real USB ?It only contains the software of USB only.
I also use the 3COM internet connection wizard to check my modem and it says it sees no USR modem although in the make field it puts it as 3COM.
Thank you !

Your modem is USR/OEM.

0's on y11 would indicate the modem was reset or has no data to display for the frequencies;
Try using HyperTerminal to place a call, go to command mode with +++ then examine y11.

The 3Com/USR Internet Upgrade Wizard may not recognize USR-OEM modems.
See the link for OEM modems at

Aloha,
Richard
