After downloading and installing Net.Medic from this site, I get a wdw (on boot) warning that Net.Medic "may not run on Windows98 because of enhanced operating system features". If I elect to proceed. I then get another error wdw, "May not function with IE 4.0 or later" and Windows then closes IE. I am running Windows 98SE and IE 6.0. Is there a version of Net.Medic compatible with my system? If not, what are my options?

I have used the version on my site with all versions of Windows despite the warnings - however, there may be cases (system configurations) that cause problem; or, you may have to make slight modification to how NM runs:

When you install, default is to start Net.Medic at startup; you may be able to use it by removing it from the startup folder, and starting it after you system has completed booting from the Start->Programs menu (or desktop icon).

Otherwise, the alternative is to use Net.Medic's successor - MyVitalAgent, or some other similar utility. The reason I put the original NM in the d/l area is that I prefer the small display/options available in this version compared to alternatives.

Note as well - when you run the NetMedic prgoram (netmedic.exe), the process 'syshook.dll' is also started - this is the module that monitors your network traffic and communicates with the .exe that produces the NetMedic display. In your situation, make sure that syshook.dll is not in the tasklist when you finish booting Windows; when you manually start NetMedic, the task list (CTRL+ALT+DEL->Task list) should show syshook.)

Let us know what happens.....
